The RUCR Report

is produced from our proprietary software which assists medical professionals (e.g., physicians, chiroprators, outpatient facilities, hospitals), insurance companies and attorneys in evaluating pricing (and coding) for medical services.

WHAT IS THE RUCR REPORT?

The RUCR Report is the gold standard in usual, customary, and reasonable fee comparisons. The report provides professionals with benchmarks on the reasonableness of medical fees and the proper coding of medical services.

Similar to a home appraisal, this proprietary software provides an evaluation of the nuances of  procedures rendered to patients.

Medical providers must adhere to medical coding guidelines, including ICD Codes, HCPCS National Codes, and CPT Codes. Providers who fail to follow these guidelines (and regulations)  often over or under charge due to a misunderstanding of the coding guidelines.

Additonally, many providers  have no idea what the appropriate charges are for their services and do not know how to find  comparisons of what other medical providers may charge for the same procedures.

Coding inaccurately can affect a provider's bottom line, and may result in common mistakes such as:

  • Over or under coding for office visits
  • Misunderstanding the multiple surgery rule
  • Failing to document time spent on physical therapy with a patient

By taking binding coding rule sets into account and applying the rules to each service billed, our U.S.-based team of coding professionals provides the client with a RUCR Report that shows the usual, customary, and reasonable values for each supply and/or procedure done by medical professionals.

Each RUCR Report is individually prepared based on the geo-zip code (or region) where the service occured,  and the year in which the service(s) was/were rendered. The RUCR Report adheres to the coding rules based on the American Medical Association’s CPT book and Medicare policies. Some of these rules (e.g., multiple procedure surgery rule, timed coding rules) may reduce the values of services while others (e.g., units) may increase the value of services.  In all cases, the RUCR Report provides the standard for usual, customary, and reasonable fees.

The RUCR Report can assist vitually anyone who wants to know the value of medical charges and how coding and billing rulesets impact the bottom line.

Let us help you navigate the complexities of coding and billing guidelines.
